The vehicle came to a final stop in a ditch in front of the Metro Self Storage.

A large debris field could be seen between the hydrant and the vehicle, to include dirt, pebbles, and several pieces of the vehicle such as bumpers, glass, mirrors, and objects from the inside.

The driver of the vehicle was trapped inside and had to be forcefully extricated by firefighters.

They sustained serious injuries and were transported to Gulf Coast Medical Center as a trauma alert.

Expect delays in the area.
