GLADES COUNTY, Fla. — Deputies say a man is now in custody after he stole a boat and dressed up as a woman in an attempt to flee from them during an active theft investigation in Lakeport.
Glades County Sheriff's Office deputies were called out to investigate a stolen boat that had been recovered at the Old Caloosa Lodge in Lakeport at approximately 3:03 PM on Wednesday.
A quick investigation identified 33-year-old Joshua Kolotka as the man responsible for the theft.
As deputies began canvassing the area for Kolotka, they observed him exiting a residence dressed as a woman.
He was apprehended without incident and was booked for the boat theft.
When Kolotka was booked, it was revealed that he also had two outstanding arrest warrants from Okeechobee County and was the suspect of an unrelated theft of a John Deere Gator.
When deputies initially apprehended Kolotka, they also found numerous other items on the scene that GCSO says could have been stolen from the same area.
The Glades County Sheriff's Office said in a Facebook post on Thursday that they will be working with the Seminole Police Department to identify the other stolen items from other theft cases in the area.
